Eva Vasdeki

Bio

Born in 1973 in Wiesbaden, Germany. She now lives and works in Athens. From 1985 to 1991 she studied at the American College of Aghia Paraskevi and later on she studied Archaeological Restoration at the Petra Institute. In 1994 she was successfully admitted to the Athens School of Fine Arts and graduated from the atelier of Demosthenes Kokkinidis (succeeded by Yannis Valavanidis) with a final grade A. In parallel, in 1998, she started her second degree in Etching and today continues her etching studies, having received a state scholarship by the National Scholarship Foundation for the implementation of a graduate etching project. During 2001-2002 she has studied Byzantine Iconography and received a final grade A. Furthermore, in 2002 she received a scholarship for studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, where she also graduated with an A. Her works can be found in public and private collections. Since 1997 she's been exhibiting regularly in various parts of Greece. She has exhibited, among others, in the following exhibition halls: Eynardion Palace, Pieridi Gallery, Psychari Gallery, Greek Engravers Association, Cultural Centre of the Municipalities of Athens and Kallithea etc. In addition, she has exhibited in other countries such as England, Czech Republic, Spain etc. Last but not least, she's an active member of several ecological organizations and has worked as a volunteer for the Greek child counseling organization 'The Smile of a Child'. In September 2005 she participated in the European iconography exhibition 'Icons', which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark.
