Dimitra Koumantaki


Born in 1954 in Crete. She now lives and works in Athens. She studied Painting, Printmaking and Mosaic in the Athens School of Fine Arts (A.S.F.A.) as well as Decoration in the Vacalo Arts and Design School. As a scholar of the Greek National Scholarship Foundation, she undertook a postgraduate creative artistic research on Engraving. She has participated in various international meetings and seminars on Art Education. In 1995 she was invited to participate in an Erasmus program in Leiden and Dordreht, the Netherlands. She has been teaching in secondary school since 1990 and she has also taught in the Printmaking Studio of the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1999 to 2001. She has shown her work five times in solo exhibitions, and many times in group exhibitions in Greece, as well as in Serbia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Japan, Czech Republic, Croatia, France and several other countries. She has participated in exhibitions held by the Greek Engravers Association all over Greece. Her work was also included in the Official Book of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. 24 Nikomidias str.
